Education and Clinical Experience
SUMMARY
I received my master's degree from San Francisco State University, where I was trained in psychodynamic approaches to therapy. Over the course of my graduate training, I completed clinical internships at San Mateo County Behavioral Health & Recovery Services, the SF State Psychology Clinic, and College Track of San Francisco. Most recently, I completed a postgraduate fellowship in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at the Access Institute, with an emphasis in elder services. While working in the outpatient clinic at Access, I conducted individual and group therapy with LGBTQIA+ older adults through the organization's community partnership with Openhouse.
I have experience facilitating individual and group psychotherapy in inpatient, residential, school-based, community mental health, and clinic settings. While working at a residential treatment center for adolescents and an inpatient psychiatric hospital for adults, I gained additional experience providing crisis intervention services. By working in a variety of contexts, I’ve developed a comfort level and aptitude for working effectively with persons facing a broad spectrum of emotional and psychological difficulties. Many of these individuals have been affected by complex psychological trauma at an individual, societal, and intergenerational level.
Throughout my clinical experience, I have enjoyed engaging with persons who identify in culturally diverse ways and locate themselves across the lifespan – from early adolescence and emerging adulthood through adulthood and later life. All are welcome in my practice.
